teething

lilah seems like she has been teething forever. (yet still no teeth) i see two that look like they are going to come down, but how long does it take for the teeth to actually come out? i don't know if it's related, but the last few nights she has been a really terrible sleeper. (as it is, she gets up about 3-4 times, but the last few nights she has been waking up almost every hour)

i've been giving her some baby tylenol, but she doesn't like the taste and tightens her mouth up so i can't put the dropper in there. i seriously need sleep!

Teething is different for each baby. Madeline is almost 9 months an no teeth yet, but we've had teething syptoms for 4 months now. My first got her first teeth at 7 months, and was pretty symptom/crabby free.
For some babies it is painful and could cause sleeplessness. Think about when you get a real bad toothache, it's worse at night and when you lay flat. During the day you could giver her a cold washcloth to chew. I'm not a fan of baby orajel, but you could try it...

ACK!  Teething.  Mr. got his bottom teeth at 4 months.  I seriously shook my fist in the air.  He went straight from colic to teeth.  I used Teething Tablets, I believe Hylond(?) makes them.  They are carried at Long's and some independent drug stores.  They are herbal and I had some Mom's look at me like I was giving my baby crack!  My mom used them on me and I used them on Mr.  They worked fabulously, and both of us are fine.

Side Note:  I also used their Colic Tablets, they worked much better than Gripe Water.

the teething is rough. Mikababy has 8 teeth and is getting her back molars- OUCH.
the drooling is bad. Red checks and she pulls at her ears. She chews on toys and teething rings. I give her baby tylenol on really bad nights.  I haven't tried the teething tablets. I don't even know if I would know where to find them.
