bumbo baby seat


has anyone used one of these? do you think this would make a good baby gift?

I got one for Madeline at about 3 1/2 months. She was kind of slumpy in it, the novelty wore off quickly. I hear they are great for larger babies though, or to use as travel high chairs. At this point Madeline is way to active to want to stay in it.

Yes, I have one and I loved using it.  It cradles enough that they can't easily wobble out and I think it's the supported seating that makes babies so happy in it.  As someone else said though, it isn't as useful for bigger babies who can move a lot and crawl, but I used mine pretty steadily through those middle first year months.

I'm not sure I would. I'd worry about the slippery baby factor. The seat is made of a foam type material and Ithink with soap in the mix things could get quite slippery. I think there is even a warning on the seat not to use it for bathing, I might be wrong though...

Hmmm, I've never seen those before.  Are they to be used before the baby is sitting up on their own or what?
