Vitamin E oil (oil not lotion) works the best on scars or stretch marks. I have had several knee surgeries and this is what I put on after them and after the first one my scar nearly disappeared. The reason most products like that work is because they contain vitamin E oil, so why not buy the cheaper original version. It's really good for your skin- makes it soooo soft.
I just wanted to update you guys on this topic...especially since I'm a little further along...
I'm 6.5 months now and I have not a single stretch mark on my belly thus far...woo hoo!
I could just be fortunate ,but I seriously doubt it, for while there I was itching alot and having all sorts of skin stretching issues . I think these guys have been life savers
Mama Mio Tummy oil and Mustela
I put the tummy oil on first and then follow-up with the Mustela...
I use both in the morning and only the tummy oil at night...
i used vitamin e oil after my showers and about an hour to half hour before bed, to give time to soak in, every day. i have 3 stretch marks. 2 right on top of my belly button, that you can't see really anymore, they were less than an 2 inches long and very thin, and on on my hip that is about an inch long an pretty thin. i don't know if that is totaly due to the oil, but it is food for thought.
i used this twice a day when i was pregnant (morning and night). i used it to relieve my itchy belly, but a friend recommended it to me for stretch marks. i highly doubt it was the cocoa butter that prevented stretch marks though. i truly think i was just "lucky":
