He's still too young (IMO) to know the exact truth.  I can still get away with telling my 8 year old that God puts them there and doctors get them out.  As for down the road, I'm dreading it, too!

I have always addressed my now 11 year-old's questions in a very straightforward, matter-of-fact way.  I have always been very honest with him and feel like because I have been answering these questions since he was really little (4 or so) it is much easier to talk to him now.

I have had two babies in the past 4 years so there were many questions asked along the way.  I would just give it to him straight and usually he would say "that is so gross!" and I would just shrug it off and say, "it's just nature-all of this stuff happens to everyone"...

I think the sooner you start talking about this the easier it it.  Less taboo, less stress, etc.

A good way to parent, I think.  If we teach our children properly, than they ought not to go through that stage where the forbidden beckons...they'll already know in a straightforward, matter of fact way what things are.

That said, my problem now is deciding what words to use in describing the differences between my body and my son's.
