Designer Maternity Jeans

I posted this on Style Thread but thought this may be a better place...

I plan to watch E-bay for a good deal on either True Religion or Citizens Maternity Jeans.  I shouldn't need them for a few months but if I can get a good "deal" I'll go ahead and get them.  My question is sizing.  Do I get my normal size 28 in these also???  I've noticed at the bottom of some auctions it will say - we suggest ordering up one size from prepregnancy??  This confuses me - anyone have any advice??

They are suggesting this because of weight gain...you will gain all over, and probably the width of your hips will increase, so it's best to wait until you've begun showing before shelling out lots of $$$ on a pair of jeans.

I agree, don't order any now. I personally wouldn't spend that kind of money on Maternity jeans just beacaue I don't need them until about 5 months along and then usually need the next size up at about 7 months along. Hardly seems worth it for 2 months! Old Navy has cute enough jeans for such a short period of time, JMO!

Congrats, btw! I was due Feb 10th this year with my daughter. She is 4 months old now. Just think, this time next year you'll be where I am!

ETA: This place has fabulous maternity clothing! http://www.japaneseweekend.com/

some people gain all over...others don't gain a lick..

so I would def wait till you are further along to start buying maternity clothes..

I third this I bough a pair in my second and third trimesters. The ones I got in my second I wore early post-partum, well worth it!

I posted on ST, but thought I would add.  Some tailors can take a pair of jeans you already have and turn them into maternity jeans.

My mom does this and charges $20.00 but it's to a maternity boutique here in town. If you are willing to sacrifice a pair you already have you can buy a new post-preg pair as a weight-loss celebration after the baby.
