I have been so excited watching the scale drop every day since Olly was born. My pre-prgnancy weight was 232. The day before I delivered I weighed 247 pounds. As of yesterday, 11 days post-partum, my weight was down to 214. That's 33 pounds gone! I haven't weighed this little since my wedding 2 years ago. Yippppeee!!!
My goal is to get to the weight I was when I met DH, which was about 150 pounds. I feel like I have a great running start now. I never expected to lose so much so quickly.
wow, that is really good. my doctor told me that you will lose about 15lbs right off the bat just from delivering the baby. that is from the baby itself and the afterbirth and all the fluid from the sack. i didn't lose all that much in the first 2 weeks. i had gained 70lbs with mercie though. it took me 8 weeks to lose 60lbs and the other 10 never came off. but i was 10lbs underweight when i got pregnant, so i was at a healthy weight that i have stayed at. i am at 17weeks and i have only gained 2lbs. woo hoo. by this point with mercie i had allready gained 25lbs. so i think i am doing good.
i don't know about two weeks, but within three weeks i had lost about 25 lbs of my baby weight. (i gained 37ish) mostly from being too tired to eat, nursing, etc. i am still waiting on the last 2-3 lbs to come off, and hope they say bye-bye when i am done nursing. (i am almost completely weaned, but still nurse first thing in the morning)
I didn't keep record of the first two weeks, but 10-15 lbs sounds about right. With my first child, I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight at my 6 wk post partum appt. BUT, my size was not pre-pregnancy, which is what really mattered to me! It took a whole nine months to fit into my smallest jeans. With my second child, it's happening a little slower, but I expect to be back to normal size by his first birthday. Extended breastfeeding definitely helps.
It's great to have a running start, but go easy on yourself because your body will bounce back, it just might take it's nine months to get there.
