I'll be the first to admit - I worry way to much about making things "perfect" in this nursery. I still haven't found a mobile that goes great with my bedding. I stumbled upon this one, which shocked me that it had an alligator on it and had an idea. I think the colors of the arm and canopy fabric will work great in the room. I'm thinking of getting this:
And keeping the alligator on there and replacing the other characters. Which wouldn't be hard to do. I found this little Gap Bear (I have several of the lighter brown versions and have played around with a plain mobile before with them) and thought it'd look really cute hanging on there and they're not heavy. My husbands aunt said she's replace the ribbon around the neck and add another color and sew it where it would be secure on the mobile.
I wish I could find a small caterpillar to put on there too - but I'm having NO luck with that.
I'm bound and determained (and a little crazy) that I will make a mobile work perfectly in this nursery!!
I know it doesn't match & that you're all into matching the mobile to the bedding; but this one by Tiny Love is great:
Not only does it play several really nice tunes, but since the animals are on an angle, the baby will have a ball trying to focus on an animal all the way around. If I remember correctly, they will occasionally jiggle a little bit. Plus the colors are bright and the animals are hanging face-down so that they are "looking" at the baby.
Trust me - matching ones are pretty cute, but most of them are kind of useless. Plus you'll have to take it out when the baby can reach them anyway (or can pull up).
