We've only just begun...

So, thanks to Smash sending me some info, we have begun charting. I have been in my fertile phase pretty much all week with my ovulation being today I think.

It seems odd to say this but trying to have a baby is a lot of work (if you get my drift).  ;)

Since this is my first cycle charting, I am not expecting too much, but we are still very hopeful.

I'm a strong believer in charting! I was off my pill for three months when we conceived.  The first two months we just "tried" when we wanted, and after charting I found out we hadn't even "tried" when we needed to.  The third month trying, the first month charting, we got pregnant!  I was able to tell 10 days past my ovulation day that I was pregnant. My temps. remained high and even took another rise causing me to really think positive.  Read Taking Charge or Your Fertility and I charted using fertilityfriend.com.  The first month gives you VIP access for free.  It tells you things daily that help you to understand what point your at in your cycle.  The thing with charting is to remember that once the temp. spikes - you've already ovulated so it's probably too late to "try" then.  Oh and there's a great website, babyfit.com that's very helpful.  They have a message board for women who are trying to conceive and I was able to learn so much from talking to others.  I'll be happy to help answer any questions you have.  Good Luck!

I've been reading TCOYF and have learned so much about my cycle. I have charted using FF and the TCOYF software.

That's great - sounds like your right on track.  I thought charting was going to be such a hassel but it wasn't.  We became so used to it so quickly.  My husband gets up for work 2 hours before me so we made it a point for him to wake me up to temp. as soon as his alarm went off.  He'd hand me the thermometer, I'd take it (still 1/2 a sleep) and then put it int he drawer.  When I woke up for good I'd turn it on, see the temp., and then chart it when I got to the office.  It literally only took about 5 min. total and was so worth it.  I hope it happens for you really soon!
