Venting - Terrible Twos

I think I should have been warned this doesn't start right at 2!

My DD is turning 2 in 2 weeks and it seems like she decides to throw a tantrum everytime we're crossing traffic!

This weekend we went to Target, and she decides to limp her whole body and lay on the floor in front of the store parking lot while cars are waiting for her to get up.  She also does this as we get off the escalator, elevator, walk out of a store, walking in a busy aisle etc.

My mom asked me why I decided to take my dad out to dinner instead of buying something like I prefer and I had to tell her I can't leave the house until DD turns 4 because I can't deal with her anymore!  And she told me it only gets worse!  Please tell me it gets better, even if its not true!

I found my daughter hit it just before turning 2 also.  It was bad!  She just turned 4 and it's mostly gone, but she is a "typical" whiny little girl.  Almost like having a PMSing 13 year old around the house.

My son is on the autism spectrum, so his terrible twos and threes have been a bit more dramatic than most.  That said, he does have days where his behaviour is PERFECT and he's the loving, cuddly little bug he was before.

Ugh, I hear you. My son has been doing this since about 18 months old. He will be 2 in August and I'm fully prepared for it to get worse. One thing that I noticed helps is if I keep sugar out of his diet, he is much less cranky that way. So no or very little juice, etc. Save ketchup as sometimes he won't eat ANYTHING unless it's dipped in ketchup.
