The TOP 5 baby things you couldn't live without!

List here the top 5 baby products/things you couldn't have lived without.

I would probably have to say:

Lansinoh Nipple cream

Fisher Price portable swing

Gripe Water

Swaddle Blanket

Baby Einstein DVD's

sorry I had to add one more:

DERMOPLAST for after you give birth.

I will totally second Dermoplast.

Madeline LOVES her Fisher Price Cradle swing. The one that swings side to side or front to back.

We also got a lot of use out of the Papasan chair that matches. As a matter of fact she slept in it the first few weeks home. We put it in the crib because the crib was just so massive around her.

For us another neccessity was a white noise machine. I think it's by first years. It attaches to the side of the crib and has 4 different noises. It also has a nightlight which was GREAT for night-time changes.

I'll have to give this some more thought too...

  • absolutely lansinoh products...both ointment and nursing pads.

  • Pampers cruisers diapers....the only ones that never leaked

  • Washcloths for everything...spitup, washup, teething

  • detachable mobile....came with a suction cup so it could be placed anywhere when traveling

  • Diaper genie

  • Sleep sacks....diaper changing is soooo much easier.

I have to say IMHO Pampers are better for boys, for girls it's huggies all the way.

Karina you had both do you have an opinion on this?

Demoplast is an aresol spray that relieve pain and itching from the birth process and possibly stitches if you have them. The hospital will usually give you some. It contains witch hazel and other soothing ingredients.

Gripe water is something used for colicy babies. I'm not 100% sure what's in it, but I know moms with colicky babies swear by it.

Honestly, I haven't even noticed.  I liked Luvs and Pampers for my kids. Huggies leaked for both of them.

I didn't get dermaplast, how unfair!

1. Vibrating bouncer and/or swing. The bouncer is good for when she's awake but I have to put her down so I can do something, and the swing works well for when I want her to relax and go to sleep.

2. Puppy training pads. This sounds weird, but they work so well for changing. My baby always, always pees when I'm changing her and these just absorb the liquid, leaving me with virtually no mess. Then I just throw it away....no laundry!

3. Travel system. I can imagine having to take baby from car seat to stroller everytime we went somewhere.

4. Diaper Genie

5. Washcloths

Yes!! I used underpads that I got from CVS but they are the same thing. I also put one under her sheet in the bassinet so messes didn't soak through to the pad.
