Madeline LOVES her Fisher Price Cradle swing. The one that swings side to side or front to back.
We also got a lot of use out of the Papasan chair that matches. As a matter of fact she slept in it the first few weeks home. We put it in the crib because the crib was just so massive around her.
For us another neccessity was a white noise machine. I think it's by first years. It attaches to the side of the crib and has 4 different noises. It also has a nightlight which was GREAT for night-time changes.
What are these two things for? Sorry, I have soooo much to learn
Demoplast is an aresol spray that relieve pain and itching from the birth process and possibly stitches if you have them. The hospital will usually give you some. It contains witch hazel and other soothing ingredients.
Gripe water is something used for colicy babies. I'm not 100% sure what's in it, but I know moms with colicky babies swear by it.
Leah_Leanna wrote: Pampers cruisers diapers....the only ones that never leaked I have to say IMHO Pampers are better for boys, for girls it's huggies all the way. Karina you had both do you have an opinion on this?
Honestly, I haven't even noticed. I liked Luvs and Pampers for my kids. Huggies leaked for both of them.
1. Vibrating bouncer and/or swing. The bouncer is good for when she's awake but I have to put her down so I can do something, and the swing works well for when I want her to relax and go to sleep.
2. Puppy training pads. This sounds weird, but they work so well for changing. My baby always, always pees when I'm changing her and these just absorb the liquid, leaving me with virtually no mess. Then I just throw it away....no laundry!
3. Travel system. I can imagine having to take baby from car seat to stroller everytime we went somewhere.
1. dermaplast + cold pack pads 2. swing 3. baby bjorn carrier - going for walks is the only thing that calms her sometimes 4. tees (who needs to bother with snaps when i am changing diapers all day) 5. boppy

Yes!! I used underpads that I got from CVS but they are the same thing. I also put one under her sheet in the bassinet so messes didn't soak through to the pad.
2:hospital under-pads (you know, the ones you sit on while in labor to absorb liquid) great for putting on any surface while changin diapers (www.northshorecare.com)
3: Medela Pump
4: Baby Einstein gym (keeps them busy on the floor for a long time)
5: Blue baby powder scented bags from babies r us for putting dirty diapers in (great for home or diaper bag, takes up less space than diaper geine)
1. my baby also loves the fisher price cradle 2 in 1 swing 2. pampers. huggies leaked through every time 3. nuk pacifier, especially for car rides 4. i put her on the floor with her baby einstein gym every day. it keeps her amused. 5. maya wrap sling. my baby LOVES it!
Calm Baby and Fun Baby DVDs-- she likes them much better than Baby Einstein zippered fleece footie pajamas rather than snap pajamas....so much easier Diaper scented nappy bags Dry formula dispenser and cheerio dispenser---just keeps things simple and neat Fisher Price booster seat---only $25 and so much more compact than a high chair
