i have no idea, but i was under the impression you weren't supposed to use either on their head (for awhile, at least)...maybe use a more moisturizing baby wash?
Is it cradle cap?? I know when my son had it, my doctor reccommended Selsen Blue.........( in small amounts) and it worked great. You have to be extremely careful with the eyes though. I wouldn't use oil of lotion, because it makes the hair oily..but if is persists I would talk to your ped.
If your baby's head were so dry you can apply small amount of baby oil on his head. This will prevent dryness. There's nothing wrong of using baby oil on baby's head as long as in exact amount. Also baby oil makes baby's hair grow faster and stronger.
