I've never used these before b/c it's aways just "happened." However, I peed on one yesterday and it was positive (which means it detected elevated levels of the luteal (sp?) hormone) and again this morning which was also positive.
My question is this: when it shows up as positive, does that mean you should "get busy" immediately or wait a day or so. The instructions say a positive result means ovulation could occur anywhere from 12-36 hours from then, but how am I supposed to tell if I'm at the beginning of that time frame or toward the end? Can't find info on that.
TMI, but since it was positive yesterday and today, would doing it this morning be a good thing?
I can't answer your question as to the time frame. I do know that the little guys & girls (a.k.a. spermies) can wait up to 3 days for ovulation to occur so technically you should start having sex 3 days prior to ovulation and I believe through 1 day after. I also know that girls are slower swimmers than boys but they live longer while trying to fertilize.
I think technically it's recommended you start peeing on the sticks a few days before you think you'll be ovulating, and continue through ovulation until you get a negative afterwards. That way you can pinpoint your attempts more effectively (you can get the strips for cheeaaaap online, which is good for multiple testing days!), at least until you find your own pattern. It takes the spermies awhile to get up there too - sperm and egg need to meet not long after the egg is release, in the fallopian tube. So I'd probably err on the side of 'early'.
So I'd go for it immediately and in a day or so! Definitely ups your chances, since the OPKs don't seem to pinpoint an actual *day* for you.
